Kuwait Petroleum, Q8, embarked a couple of years ago on a drastic professionalization programme for purchasing in North and West Europe. Previously, purchasing was a completely distributed process. This fragmentation was bad for both efficiency and effectiveness. Our aim with centralization is to substantially increase the added value of purchasing. It is in fact one large change management process in which no stone will remain unturned: new purchasing processes, expansion of our purchasing team, introduction of state-of-the-art purchasing tools, improved contracts, the introduction of vendor management and the development of partnerships with suppliers.

Solvint has supported us in a variety of ways. They identified suitable candidates to strengthen our purchasing team, and performed assessments of their professional qualities. Q8 sets extremely high requirements on employees, and we know from experience that this makes it very hard for us to find suitable people. However, Solvint’s specialization has enabled us to identify excellent purchasing specialists.
